This policy explains what personal information pline.studio Learn collects, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to learn.pline.studio and every study guide under it, including OBC Study.
Who we are
pline.studio Learn is operated by pline.studio (“we”, “us”), based in Ontario, Canada. Questions or requests about your personal information go to our privacy contact at hello@pline.studio.
What we collect
- If you use the site without an account: your lesson progress, answers and review schedule are saved only in your own browser (local storage). We don’t receive them.
- If you sign in with Google: Google shares your name, email address, profile picture and a Google account identifier with us. We don’t receive your Google password and we don’t ask Google for access to your contacts, files or other data.
- If you create an account with your email: your email address and a password. Your password is stored only in scrambled (hashed) form by our sign-in provider; we can’t see it. We email you to confirm your address and when you ask to reset your password.
- When you study while signed in: your progress, answers, scores, review schedule, saved Code sections, private notes and your target exam and exam date, if you add them.
- If you buy something (once paid items are offered): what you bought, when and the amount. Payments are handled by a third-party payment processor; we never receive or store your full card number.
- When you email us: your email address and what you write.
- Technical information: our hosting and sign-in providers automatically log information such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site running and secure.
Why we use it
- To create and secure your account and keep you signed in across our study guides.
- To save and sync your study progress and show your results, weak areas and review schedule.
- To provide items you buy, keep purchase records and handle refunds.
- To answer your messages and send service emails, such as purchase receipts or important changes to these policies.
- To keep the site secure, fix problems and improve our content.
We will only send you marketing emails if you agree to receive them, and every one will include a way to unsubscribe. We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the site, and only as needed for that service:
- Supabase: account sign-in, account emails (confirmation and password reset) and the database that stores your account and study data.
- Google: the “Sign in with Google” service.
- Vercel: hosting for the website.
- Zoho: our email service, used to send account emails and when you write to us.
- A payment processor: to take payments, once paid items are offered.
Some of these providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Cookies and local storage
We use your browser’s local storage to save your study progress and, when you sign in, to keep you signed in. We don’t use advertising or analytics cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and study data while your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except purchase records we must keep for tax and accounting purposes (generally up to seven years). Information saved only in your browser stays there until you clear it.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, get a copy, or delete your account. Email hello@pline.studio from your account email; we’ll respond within 30 days. You can also withdraw consent to optional uses, such as marketing emails, at any time. If you aren’t satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Security
We use reputable providers, encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access rules so that each account can read only its own study data. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password that you don’t use elsewhere, and keep your Google account secure too.
Children
pline.studio Learn is for people preparing for professional exams and is not directed to children under 16. Purchases are limited to adults.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We’ll post the new version here with its effective date and let account holders know by email about significant changes.
